As an instructor one of my goals is to design higer order level thinking activities. These activities have been designed with the absorb, do and connect learning process.The students are expected to demonstrate an understanding of the concepts being taught in class and be able to apply them proficiently throughout these activities.
Activity # 1: Students will create a 90 second speaking presentation based on the information presented in chapter 2. In order to help the students to prepare for this activity the students must study the vocabulary for this chapter. I have provided them different Web 2.0 alternatives for them to choose from in order to study the vocabulary. However, in my opinion Quizlet is the most effective. Please see below.

This Web 2.0 is a great tool not only for instructors, but for also for students. This tool provides permanent intraction and feedback. It also provides audio and different ways to apply these vocabulary words. Please click on the drop down button (above) to view the other ways that this vocabulary could be used by the students.
Once the students have learned these vocabulary words, they will be applying them in short stories in the target language. The students were assigned to post their work in Edmodo. Please click here to view a student sample of this activity.
Lastly, the students are required to create a 90 second presentation using the vocabulary and grammar presented in this chapter. Students are encouraged to work with the following review for this chapter. Please see below.
